John started the production of purebred pigs with his wife Enid on John’s family farm in 1977. The nucleus herd has grown to 350 purebred sows consisting of Yorkshire, Landrace and Durocs producing offspring to maintain the NOVASTAR GENETICS nucleus herd and supplies and maintains 1500 sows for F1 gilt production. John has exported NOVASTAR GENETICS across Canada and into nine other countries. John works closely with the nucleus herd, sourcing new genetic lines and setting up the planned matings to produce stock for our commercial industry. SUE OVERDULVE: PRODUCTION CO-ORDINATOR

Sue plans the production flows at the nucleus. She works with John setting up the planned matings. Sue processes, identifies and registers all the purebred production with Canadian Livestock Records Corporation. She enters the computerized production records and prepares the sales invoices.
